America- What are you Thinkin'???

Okay, I'll admit I'm an American Idol-aholic ;) I have watched the show since it first started. I know that forgetting the words to a song is obviously a bad thing, but what about those who really can't sing that well to begin with?!? I don't want to be mean, but for Brandon to be sent home and Sanjaya still getting to be there~~What's up with that?!?
Oh well, I've vented enough for now...

The Cast

This morning we took Emma Kate to the Orthopedic Surgeon and she now has a cast on her left arm. She has to have it on for four weeks and then we go back to get it looked at. Of course, the Dr. was sweet but you could tell he didn't have a toddler at home~~ His instructions: Make sure she doesn't run around and no playing outside~ This could be fun ;) As Miss Emma was going down for her nap she said "Thanks for my cast Mommy". I think she knows it's going to make her all better.

Happy Birthday Uncle Colin!

Today we celebrated my younger brother Colin's birthday. The kids had so much fun, they love getting to see their Aunts and Uncles!! They also got to see their cousin George (he's the four-legged one in the pics)!! Fun was had by all and now it's off to bed, we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow.

First Visit to the ER

As the title of the last post implied, Emma had a "big girl bed", but late last night it was changed back to a crib. As a parent, yesterday evening was one of the worst! We were all outside playing on our new swingset, when Emma Kate fell off of the ladder. We were not sure just how bad it was, she seemed fine until she would put pressure on something with her wrist. We decided we needed to take her to the hospital :( I called GaGa & PaPa and they were lifesavers!! We dropped Ben off with PaPa, Uncle Colin & Nana and Gaga drove us to the hospital.~Thanks guys for everything you did for us!!

We got to the hospital around 6pm and we were looked at pretty quickly for the ER. Miss Emma had to get her first X-Rays (3 of them), she was such a champ! Then we got to play the waiting game...The film finally came back showing that she had a broken wrist :( So the nurse wrapped it up and put her left arm in a sling (which is a little big I might add). We got to leave probably by 11 or so. And we have to go visit the Orthopedic Surgeon tomorrow. Here's a pic of Emma Kate in her sling:

Big Girl Bed or NOT...

Yesterday afternoon, we decided to change Emma's crib into a toddler "big girl" bed. Both Ben & Emma patiently watched Daddy "fix up" her bed.

Then of course, they had to try it out!!!
